Yasuhiko Okuno

A Japanese photographer, cinematographer, producer and director with over 40 years of experience telling stories from all over the world, Yasuhiko is the founder and Managing Director of K.M. Tomyam.

Over his career, he’s told stories about Japan’s Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995, marginalized leprotic communities in South Korea, the lives under Apartheid in South Africa, and children with HIV in Thailand. In 2004, he moved to Chiang Mai with his family and began K.M. Tomyam to bridge Japan and Thailand through multimedia storytelling.

Interested in cultural diversity, struggles of marginalized communities, and the pervading environmental catastrophe, Yasuhiko has consistently led K.M. Tomyam to produce stories related to these subjects.
